Sunapee Labs is dedicated to preserving the temperament and quality of the Labrador Retriever as established by Snowden Hill. We love the versatility and athletic quality of the Labrador. We believe the temperament and health are a priority. All of our dogs are screened for hip and elbow dysplasia (OFA) and their eyes are examined annually.. The dogs are also tested for exercise induced collapse or EIC and PRA. We breed for continuation of our kennel and place all of our other puppies in companion homes. All Sunapee puppies are sold on limited AKC registration. We are active members of the Labrador Retriever Club of Greater Boston..
Sunapee Labradors is a small kennel located in Sterling, MA which is 40 miles west of Boston. We breed English style Labradors and all of our dog are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). The kennel is named for our favorite family vacation hang-out in New Hampshire, Lake Sunapee. The inspiration came from years of experience raising Labradors and Cocker Spaniels. It was the love of the Labrador Retriever that sparked our desire to create Sunapee.
We officially began with our introduction to Gladys Rogers, owner of Snowden Hill Labradors in upstate New York. We acquired a lovely yellow girl from her, Snowden Hill BoSox Lady, Maisie. She was followed by our black girl, Snowden Hill’s The Last Pitch, Dottie. These two girls became the foundation of a wonderful line of dogs - one which recently yielded our first Champion - Sunapee Labradors' Knock Three Times, Orlando.
